I'll be visiting Pineda De Mar, not far from Barcelona, for the next couple of weeks. Do any of the esteemed Latarnians know of any film locations nearby that I could drag my girlfriend around fit into my itinerary?

Not sure what's your idea of 'nearby'. I'm assuming that you'll have a car at your disposal (rented, friend's ). If so, maybe you could 'drag' your better half to Tossa de Mar (around 30 Kmt. away, up Northeast ). 'Pandora & the flying Dutchman' was filmed there. I know, not a horror movie, not even "Spanish", but I can't think of other strictly horror films specifically located in the area. Pineda de Mar is on the Maresme coastal district, just south of the the Costa Brava, where is Tossa ( between Lloret and Sant Feliu, on that map). Being mostly a beach resort area is not the typical location for dark and sinister movies, rather for comedies, adventures. spies etc..Anyway, Tossa is a nice place and probably your girlfriend would like it better than a crumbling ghostly village in the middle of nowhere. Gracias, Artur. We had Tossa on the itinerary but, thanks to you, we supplemented the trip with a viewing of Pandora & The Flying Dutchman, which we both enjoyed a great deal.

Now that I think of, the last entry of Ossorios's blind dead series (night of the seagulls) was filmed partially in Tossa. It's easy to recognise the silhouette of the castle in the sequences where the templars are riding their horses along the beach.
